IF IT'S SO EASY,
WHY IS IT SO HARD? PART 3

The last two weeks I have shared with you some thoughts regarding the time of prayer and worship we spend with God on an individual basis. You know, the more I think about prayer and what it means to me, the more I am convinced that it would be impossible to live a Christian life without it. I am not talking about those conversations we have with God on the run. I am talking about the set aside; intentional times we spend with God and He with us.

Have you made the covenant (agreement) with God that you will spend specific time with Him? Have you jealously set a time and a place for that time? Have you consciously made the decision that that time is more important than anything else you could be doing? Have you answered "NO" to any of the previous questions? If you have, I would beg you right now to stop and rethink about what's so important that you can't give God some time. You say the kids, the spouse, the job, the ballgame. Those all seem important, but in an eternal perspective isn't time with God just a little bit more important? In fact, I can guarantee that time spent with God will help you appreciate those other things even more.

Join me this week and forever in committing time to God for prayer; that is, a conversation with God. He wants to talk with you about a lot of things. Are you willing to meet Him? Your life will never be the same again. As your life changes, those around you will begin to want what you have. They will see a peace that comes from intimately knowing the Creator of the universe. They will see the power of His strength in your life. And when they ask, I know they will, you can tell them about this newly renewed relationship with God that is turning your life upside down. Do it for me, do it for your family, most importantly do it for yourself.
